This small painting grew out of repeated glimpses of a familiar bird along the creek behind my home. Rather than treating it as a portrait, I focused on the bird’s stillness and the way it settled naturally into its surroundings. The softened edges and restrained palette keep the moment quiet — more about presence than description.
